A healthy body is in balance: mineral balance, hormonal balance and acid-base balance. Plants do not thrive in acidic soil. Fish require a specific pH in order to survive their aquatic environment. Humans require a blood pH range of 7.35 to 7.45. A shift of 0.2 would have deadly consequences!
As early as 1933, the concept of acid/alkaline balance was being investigated. In a report published by Dr. William Howard Hay of New York, he theorized that all disease is caused by “self-poisoning” due to acid accumulation in the body.
We need to understand the difference between stomach (gastric) acid and systemic acidity. Gastric acid is important for the breakdown of fats, carbohydrates and proteins. Gastric acid allows critical alkaline minerals to be absorbed. Gastric acid functions as a natural barrier in the stomach protecting the body from an invasion of hostile bacteria, parasites and fungi. Gastric acid is beneficial.
On the other hand, systemic acidity exists in the body’s cellular matrix: the blood, lymph and connective tissues. These provide a vast potential storage reservoir for acidic waste that today’s bodies no longer process effectively.
Over time, acidic waste builds up as a result of chronic stress, choosing to consume acidifying, mineral depleted foods. Some prescription medications also deplete specific alkaline minerals. Systemic acidity has a negative impact on our health.
The health implications of chronic hyperacidity are numerous.
In the beginning, we are more susceptible to inflammation of the joints and tendons: Achilles Tendonitis, Plantar Fasciitis, Bursitis, Tennis - Elbow or Carpal Tunnel Syndrome.
Over time the skin may become inflamed and sensitive: Rosacea, Psoriasis and Seborrheic Eczema may arise.
Eventually the connective tissue reservoirs are full and acidic waste moves more central and also intra-cellular. At this point the organs will start to inflame and more severe chronic conditions will evolve: Vasculitis, Bronchial Inflammation, Pancreatitis, Sclerosis, Coronary Artery Disease, Diabetes, Crohn’s Disease and IBS. Every cancer starts out as an inflammation in a tissue of high acidity and cancerous cells thrive in an acidic environment.
So we know what the health hazards of high systemic acidity are but what are the benefits of being more alkaline?
Benefits of Having a Balanced Body pH:
What can be done to achieve a more alkaline body composition?
We know our body is 20% acidic and 80% alkaline. To improve our alkaline potential, our diet should consist of foods which are 80% alkaline. These include alkaline fruits and vegetables.
In addition, stress reduction is crucial.
Finally, exercise improves circulation which in turn supports the body’s ability to excrete acidic waste.
And if this isn’t enough? Perhaps the answer is to use a supplement which contains the same elements that the body naturally uses to balance acidity. AlkaPure pH contains these two components: bicarbonate and phosphate dibasic. When taken as directed, AlkaPure pH rebalances gastric acid and replenishes the body’s own buffering system. The body can then safely eliminate the acidic deposits, reducing inflammation in the joints, tendons and connective tissues.
AlkaPure pH will safely and effectively support your lifestyle and dietary changes, allowing the second half of your life to be healthy, energetic and productive.
